Profile

I was born in 1977 and I work as a Senior Technologist at the Department of Human and Social Sciences, Cultural Heritage (DSU) of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy, Rome.

I deal with the management and development of technological and / or professional activities aimed at protecting, and  enhancing cultural heritage in normal and emergency conditions, through the use of innovative technologies (IoT) andf integrated technological systems. From 2016, in reference to the assignment received by the Authority as CNR manager of  Board of the Smart @ POMPEI pilot project (MiBAC-CNR Operational Convention of 30 March 2016), I also coordinate activities aimed at creating integrated technology model (replicable in other contexts) to make Pompeii the first Smart and Resilience Archaeological Park in Italy and the world. Furthermore, In addition, my activities concern the Design for All/Universal Design, and are especially focused on improving accessibility in places of culture and the ICT accessibility.
Previously (April 2012 – October 2017) I worked at the Department of Engineering, ICT and Technologies for Energy and Transport (DIITET) of the CNR, dealing in particular with the management and coordination of the development of technological activities and / or professionals of particular complexity in the following areas: security, smart cities and communities, cultural heritage, aerospace, aeronautics and air transport.
From July 2008 to April 2012 I worked at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of the CNR supporting the activities of the Interdepartmental Security Project and the related National Technology Platforms structured on the basis of the European Technology Platforms (ETPs, European Technology Platforms) .

Education

2015 – Master’s Degree in Engineering of Security and Civil Protection, University of Rome, La Sapienza.

2005 – Master’s Degree in Sciences Applied to Cultural Heritage and diagnostics for their Conservation,  University of Rome, La Sapienza.

2003 – Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering, University of Perugia.

2001 – Degree in Materials  for Maintenance of Ancient and Modern Built, University of Perugia – Faculty of Engineering (Terni)

I gained the certificate of professional competence in Safety and Civil Protection Engineering
(section A – industrial sector).
I gained the certificate of professional competence in Architecture (section B).
 

Academia

  • Collaboration with the Chair of Durability and storage of materials at the First Faculty of Architecture Ludovico Quaroni (Sapienza, Rome);
  • Collaboration with the Chair of Architectural restoration principles, physics applied to cultural heritage and history of architecture at the Faculty of Engineering University eCampus (Rome).

Teaching

Teaching activities at higher education courses in the field of Smart Technologies, spatial planning, conservation of cultural heritage and of coordination and advisory activities for the evaluation of research projects developed any, based on regional tenders.

Publications

Author of more than 80 publications including papers, technical reports, reviews, posters, conference proceedings, editorial activity.

Other
In 2014 I obtained the basic qualification as a certified ENAC drone pilot and in 2020 the qualification as a SAPR CRO (Critical Operation) pilot.
In 2017 I attended the postgraduate course in Security Manager pursuant to the UNI 10459/2015 standard.
In 2020 I attended the training course on Disability Management.
